Week 4: Worship Week

Heart of Worship

This week it was all about worship!

The Oxford Dictionary defines Worship as, the feeling or expression of reverence and adoration.

“Worship, however, is not a church activity; it is the eternal purpose of creation.” It is not a genre of music. “It is about beholding His worth and responding with our whole being.” Worship is a way of life. It is a heart posture. It is the heart level longing of God to receive every ounce of worth that He is due.

All week long I was confronted with familiar heart checks and new revelations. And a question arose in me: as to if I was actually worshiping the Lord or am I just good at going through the motions? Am I stuck on emotionalism, but have no real burden for the things that break God’s heart? Do I live as a worshiper?

Salvation During Outreach

This Week on Wednesday my partner Faith and I shared the gospel with a girl in Fisher and she gave her life to the Lord! This is the first salvation I have ever seen from sharing the gospel (outside of Young City)!

On outreach days, I am very intentional to seek the Lord for instructions. For example, who (what types of people or a specific person He wants me to encounter), where (what location he wants me to go to on campus), and who He wants my partner to be (except this day they were chosen for us!

When we were in the middle of a discussion (during class), I felt like Holy Spirit showed me showed me the green space in the middle of Fisher College of Business. So naturally I texted my roommate Ahmi (who I thought I’d be partnered with from our conversation the night before) that I thought we should go to Fisher, in the middle of class.

However, as perviously mentioned, our partners were selected for us and I was paired with Faith! When we got in the car I asked her if the Lord put anywhere on her heart for us to go. And she said when I asked she heard the Lord say “Fisher”!!!!

Coincidence…? NO lol. I don’t even believe in those. But I do believe in a SOVEREIGN God that orchestrates all!

So we took the bus north, got off at Fisher and started talking to people. We got to pray for a girl who was already a Christian then ran into someone who knew my little sister! And that was the first place we saw Mia. She was walking by. After our conversation with the other girls, we went outside to look for more people to talk to and were going to make our way to high street when (on the SAME green the Lord showed me) we ran into Mia again outside (who was only there because she decided to walk her friend to class).

We got to talk to her, share the gospel, pray for her, and walk her through repentance and she ended up giving her life to Jesus!!!!

Please be praying for Mia as she navigates this journey! She’s so sweet and so amazing and I’m excited to see how she grows and how the Lord uses her!

Coffee Shop Encounter

Most mornings I either go to a coffee shop for quiet time with the Lord or to the church early to the prayer room. Thursday of this week, I went to the Fox in the Snow in German Village. There I met a man who came up to me because I was reading my Bible. He shared how he radically encountered Jesus in Jail over 20 years ago. I was able to pray for him and he even came to church on Sunday.

Currently, he isn’t as close to the Lord as he was in past seasons, so please be praying for him to fully surrender everything to the Lord! His name is Shawn!

“The purpose of God in sending His Son was not primarily to save us from hell, but to restore us to the purpose for which we were created to worship Him.”

Bishop Brian M. Williams Consecration

My Pastor got commissioned as a Bishop on Saturday!!! It was actually one of the coolest things I’ve ever witnessed. It was an extremely holy and weighty ceremony. For those who don’t understand, his elevation wasn’t just an elevation for him, but it requires the whole church to step up to help fulfill the global call of God of this body. It’s such an honor to serve this ministry, him and the Lord in this house!

TRACK CHANGE

Originally I signed up for the Adoration (worship) track and the Lord quickly convicted me about not doing a track that had to do with the nations, so I switched to India Frontiers. However the past few weeks the Lord has been stirring my heart to be the builder He made me to be and do the Antioch track, that has to do with church planting locally and in the nations. Which is apart of the ‘Builder Identify’ that I have been ignoring. Lol I’m good building in the natural, but being a true planted and kingdom builder, I was not trying to step into or consider. However, He used the book we have been reading for the past few weeks (THE ANTIOCH BLUEPRINT – read it!) to convict me about not considering the Church Planting (BUILDING) track.

Weekly Reflection: If you claim Jesus (to be a Christian/follower of Christ), does YOUR life show the world that you are a WORSHIPER of Jesus?
